ST JOHN'S CHURCH HAS WALLS OF PORTLAND STONE ASHLAR. THE CHURCH WAS BUILT IN 1839/40 TO THE DESIGNS OF EDWARD MONDEY, THE CHANCEL AND ORGAN CHAMBER WERE ADDED LATER IN THE 19TH CENTURY.
