DURING THICK FOG ON THE 16TH JANUARY 1920, SHE DROVE STRAIGHT ONTO THE ROCKS, NORTH OF BLACKNOR POINT, PORTLAND. ALL CREW WERE RESCUED BY MEANS OF A LONG ROPE STRUNG FROM THE STEM OF THE SHIP TO A LARGE ROCK BY LOCAL FISHERMEN.
A FEW DAYS LATER, AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO TOW HER OFF THE ROCKS BUT SHE SANK IMMEDIATELY.

WHEN THE CAPTAIN DROVE ASHORE IN CHESIL COVE ON SEPT. 20TH 1930. HE THOUGHT HE WAS ON THE NORTH COAST OF FRANCE. THE WRECK WHICH WAS SOLD FOR £1. LAY RIGHT ACROSS THE PORTLAND SEWER OUTFALL WHICH WAS SMASHED. ONLY THE THREE MASTS WERE SAVED. ALL THE CREW WERE SAVED.

WRECK OF PATRIA 1903. A NORWEGIAN BARQUE (GRIMSTAD) GT 607. ON VOYAGE FROM FREDERIKSTAD TO PORT NATAL. CARGO WAS TIMBER. THE ROCKET LINE ENABLED RESCUE OF CREW BUT THE 2ND MATE HAD A LEG AMPUTATED AND THE COOK WENT MAD AND HAD TO BE CONSTRAINED.
